Webinar on Understanding Zakat: Concept, Obligation and Calculation
A webinar titled “Understanding Zakat: Concept, Obligation and Calculation” was organized by the Continuing Education and E-Learning Centre (CEEC) for faculty, staff and students of the university on Sunday, 01 March 2026 from 02:30 PM to 03:30 PM.
The webinar was conducted by Dr. Mufti Yousuf Sultan, Visiting Lecturer at Malaysian universities namely Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia & University of Malaya.
The webinar was deemed appropriate to be organized at the holy month of Ramadan 2026 to enhance awareness of key religious obligations, understand of Shariah rulings on Zakat and its social and spiritual implications.
The webinar was attended by a substantial number of participants, including faculty members, staff, and students of the university. It concluded with an engaging question and answer session, during which participants raised numerous queries related to Zakat.
